SAMANTHA J. SAWYER
Samantha J. Sawyer (Kattau) is an associate in the Phoenix office of Zelms Erlich Lenkov & Mack. Ms. Sawyer has a diverse experience serving clients with both litigation and transactional needs in the practice areas of civil litigation, real estate, and medical malpractice as well as professional, premises, aviation law, products liability and automotive liability. Ms. Sawyer has defended a variety of professionals, including nurses, land surveyors, real estate appraisers, attorneys, engineers, and real estate brokers. She also has a broad range of skills to serve clients with transactional needs such as preparing commercial real estate leases, social media influencer agreements, corporation formation, and joint venture agreements.
Ms. Sawyer has successfully obtained a unanimous defense verdict in a real estate malpractice case which has been affirmed by the Arizona Court of Appeals. She has argued in front of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona as well as represented clients in administrative hearings and subsequent appeals. At trial and through the course of litigation, she is a fierce advocate for her clients. As many will attest, she is reliable, trustworthy, and assertive with great attention to detail.
Ms. Sawyer obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in pre-law from Arizona State University (2010) and her Juris Doctor degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University (December 2017). While pursuing both her undergraduate degree and her law degree, Ms. Sawyer worked as a paralegal in civil litigation where she acquired trial experience and an extensive understanding of civil procedure. This practical experience helped curate her client communications skills, investigative skills, and courtroom presence.
Ms. Sawyer is a member of the Arizona State Bar, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Arizona. Ms. Sawyer is an Arizona native. Aside from her success in the practice of law and representation of clients, she has a passion for cooking (and eating) good food, live music, and her family. In her free time, she can be found outdoors with her husband and their pups.
